Overall Winner: TRENT PARKE

The photographer with the highest aggregate score overall was judged to be Australia's Top Photographer 2008, as voted by their peers.

Advertising: URS BUHLMAN

Urs's awards include Canon AIPP Australian Advertising Photographer 2004, 2006 & 2007, Canon AIPP Australian Photographer of the Year 2006, D&AD, Gold Folio, Japanese D&AD, Caxton and NY One Show.

Architecture/Still Life: TIM GRIFFITH

At the International Photography Awards announced in New York in October 2006 Tim was named the IPA Architectural Photographer of the Year for the third year running.

Art: NARELLE AUTIO

In 2001 and again in 2005 Narelle was selected in the Australian Art Collectors Magazine's "50 most collectable Australian artists".

Editorial: TRENT PARKE

Today Trent works primarily as a street photographer and is the only Australian photographer to become a member of Magnum.

Fashion: RICHARD BAILEY

Richard is the preferred photographer of supermodels such as Sarah O'Hare, Emma Balfour, Claudia Schiffer, Theresa Maxova, Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Nikki Taylor.

Photojournalism: TRENT PARKE

Trent has won World Press Photo Awards in 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2005, and in 2006 was awarded the ABN AMRO emerging artist award.

Portrait: MATT HOYLE

Matt Hoyle is an internationally acclaimed photographer who shoots for advertising, editorial and entertainment clients primarily in the US as well as South East Asia.

Sport: TIM CLAYTON

Tim has photographed sport full time for the paper for the past sixteen years. His honours list includes eight World Press Photo Awards.

Travel: GEORGE FETTING

Over the last 20-plus years George Fetting has worked on a number of national and international publications and travelled extensively.
