Welcome to Capture Magazine's annual award showcasing the best of Australian photography as judged by professional photographers. The competition provides a fresh approach to determine the very best photographers in the country.
NOMINATIONS AND VOTING
Each year we invite photographers, creative directors and anyone with a vested interest in professional photography, to nominate professional photographers for consideration for the awards. After nominations have closed we then invite the nominated professionals to vote online for their peers. Each nominated photographer receives a once-only access to the site for voting. They can vote for up to three photographers in any of the 11 categories.
They are asked to vote based on the following criteria:
• Clients' and peers' experience
• Industry reputation and professionalism
• Style/creativity
• Technical expertise
• Approachability and client service
WINNERS
Voting determines the winner and runner-up in each category. There is also be an overall winner across all categories - Australia's Top Photographer 2010. Details are published in the May/June 2010 issue of Capture and on this site. View winners
EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHERS
Starting in 2010 awards were made to emerging photographers in the professional categories, plus an overall award for Emerging Photographer of the Year.
